Objectives : To improve integrated development of Horticulture industry and to help in coordinating, sustaining the production and processing of fruits and vegetables.

    1. In open field cultivation
    2. In protected cover cultivation
  2. Integrated Post Harvest Management projects

Scheme Details :

I. Commercial Horticulture Development - In open field cultivation :

  • Components -
    1. Planting material
    2. Plantation
    3. Irrigation
    4. Micro irrigation
    5. Fertigation
    6. Mechanization
    7. Precision farming
    8. GAP (Certificate for Good Agriculture Practice)
    9. Integration of production unit (Mushroom, Tissue culture)
      1. with on farm PHM components and
      2. Primary processing unit
    10. Farm machinery and PHM infrastructure

  • Required Area -
    1. General area : 2.00 ha. (5 Acres)
    2. NE Region : 1 Acres

  • Pattern of Assistance -
    1. General areas :- 40% of the total project cost (Maximum of Rs. 30 Lakhs)
    2. NER, Hilly & Scheduled area :- 50% of the total project cost (Maximum of Rs. 37.50 Lakhs)
    3. Maximum Project Cost :-
      • For Date Palm, Olive & Saffron (In all areas) : Rs. 125 Lakhs per project
      • For other products (In all areas) : Rs. 75 Lakhs per project

II. Commercial Horticulture Development - In protected cover cultivation :

  • Components -
    1. Planting material
    2. Plantation
    3. Irrigation
    4. Fertigation
    5. Mechanization
    6. Activities like
      1. Construction of Green Houses
      2. Shade Net House
      3. Plastic Mulching
      4. Plastic Tunnel
      5. Antibird/Hail nets
    7. In case of flowers : Green House Structures only

  • Required Area -
    1. General area : 2500 Sq. Meter i.e 0.6177 Acres
    2. NE Region : 1000 Sq. Meter i.e 0.2471 Acres

  • Eligible crops -
    • High Value Vegetables :-
      • –  Capsicum
      • –  Cucumber
      • –  Tomato
    • Cut Flowers (only under Green House :-
      • –  Anthurium
      • –  Carnation
      • –  Chrysanthemum
      • –  Gerbera
      • –  Lilium
      • –  Orchid
      • –  Rose

  • Pattern of Assistance -
    1. All areas :- 50% of the total project cost (Maximum of Rs. 56 Lakhs)
    2. Maximum Project Cost:- Rs. 112 Lakhs per project

III. Integrated Post Harvest Management projects -

  • Components -
    • –  Pack House
    • –  Ripening Chamber
    • –  Refer Van
    • –  Retail Outlets
    • –  Pre- cooling unit
    • –  Primary processing etc.
    • (Component mode & Standalone projects of PHM components are also allowed under NHB)

  • Eligible crops -
    • In case of primary processing :-
      • –  Fruits,
      • –  Vegetables,
      • –  Flowers,
      • –  Aromatic plants and
      • –  Cashew

    • Pattern of Assistance -
      1. General areas :- 35% of the total project cost (Maximum of Rs. 50.75 Lakhs per project)
      2. NER, Hilly & Scheduled area :- 50% of the total project cost (Maximum of Rs. 72.50 Lakhs per project)
      3. Maximum Project Cost :- All areas: Rs. 145 Lakhs per project
