What is the AEO Scheme?

Additional Eligibility Requirements

Financial Solvency

Applicants must demonstrate financial solvency for the three financial years preceding the date of application. This includes no bankruptcy, insolvency, or liquidation proceedings.

Legal Compliance

No significant infringements of customs legislation in the last three years. No cases of serious criminal offenses related to economic activity.

Security & Safety Standards

Appropriate security measures to secure the international supply chain, including premises security, cargo security, and personnel security.

Record Keeping

Satisfactory system for managing commercial and transport records that allows appropriate customs controls.

AEO-LO (Logistics Operator) Benefits

The AEO-LO certification is specifically designed for logistics service providers, custodians, terminal operators, customs agents, and warehouse operators in the supply chain.

AEO-LO Eligibility

Logistics Service Providers

Entities involved in the logistics of moving goods in international trade, including freight forwarders, shipping lines, and carriers.

Custodians or Terminal Operators

Entities responsible for the custody and handling of imported/export goods in ports, airports, and inland container depots.

Customs Agents

Licensed customs brokers who facilitate customs clearance on behalf of importers and exporters.

Warehouse Operators

Entities operating customs bonded warehouses for storage of imported or export goods.

Application Process

Follow these steps to apply for AEO certification and enhance your trade facilitation.

Self-Assessment

Complete the self-assessment form to evaluate your eligibility for AEO certification. Ensure all required documents are prepared.

Application Form

The application form must be submitted online through the ICEGATE portal along with all supporting documents.

Submit Application

Submit your completed application to the AEO Programme Manager at the nearest Customs House.

Validation & Verification

Customs officials will review your application and may conduct on-site verification of your premises and procedures.

Certificate Validity

AEO certificates are valid for 3 years and can be renewed before expiry by submitting a renewal application.
