Agricultural & Processed Food Products Export Development Authority

Introduction

The Agricultural and Processed Food Products Export Development Authority (APEDA) was established by the Government of India under the APEDA Act passed by the Parliament in December,1985 for the development and promotion of export for the scheduled products. With this act coming into effect, APEDA replaced the Processed Food Export Promotion Council (PFEPC). The products specified under the APEDA Act are called Schedule products

APEDA is also responsible liable to provide financial assistance, information and guidelines for the development of scheduled products.

APEDA registration is essential as it is responsible for export promotion and development of scheduled products.  

Schedule Products monitored by APEDA

  1. Fruits, Vegetables and their Products.
  2. Meat and Meat Products.
  3. Poultry and Poultry Products.
  4. Dairy Products.
  5. Confectionery, Biscuits and Bakery Products.
  6. Honey, Jaggery and Sugar Products.
  7. Cocoa and its products, chocolates of all kinds.
  8. Alcoholic and Non-Alcoholic Beverages.
  9. Cereal and Cereal Products.
  10. Groundnuts, Peanuts and Walnuts.
  11. Pickles, Papads and Chutneys.
  12. Guar Gum.
  13. Floriculture and Floriculture Products.
  14. Herbal and Medicinal Plants.
  15. Cashew kernel, Cashew nuts shell liquids, kardanol

APEDA has also been entrusted with the responsibility to monitor import of sugar.


Subsidy by APEDA

I) Scheme Information

1 Subsidy (Financial Assistance)
2 Subsidy for purchase of Colour Sortex including Compressors, Vibrators, Metal Detectors, Sensors & Silos.
3 Scheme effective from 20-10-2021
4 Amount of Subsidy - 40% (General) & 75% (Women / SC / ST), Max cap upto ₹ 2 Crores
5 No. of Instalments - Single

II) Procedure / Compliance

1 APEDA RCMC Registration is mandatory.
2 Order should not be confirmed, advance payment should not made to supplier, also should not purchase machinery before submission of Subsidy Appln to APEDA.
3 Term Loan is not Mandatory.
4 If Term Loan (TL) taken, Appraisal Note and TL copy required.
5 25% BG on Subsidy Amount for a period Implementation Period +| 1 Year.
6 Direct Export is mandatory.

III) How to Claim

1 Require Quotations from 3 different Machinery Suppliers is mandatory for Indian Purchase. Direct Import one Quotation is sufficient.
2 Apply for Subsidy to APEDA
3 After submission of application, can start Commercial Activity i.e. PO generation, Advance Payment to Supplier, Purchase of Machine

IV) Kireeti Scope

1 Submission of Application to APEDA, Delhi
2 Arrangement of Inspection (2 Times) of Unit / Factory - 1st for Approval and 2nd before Release of Subsidy.
3 Release of Subsidy Amount
