Subject:  Amendment in Import Policy condition of Silver under Chapter – 71 of Schedule -1 of ITC (HS) 2022 - reg.

• Central Govt hereby notifies amendment under Chapter – 71 by introducing Policy Condition No 5.

• Import Policy of Silver under ITC(HS) codes : 71069210 & 71069290 has been revised from Restricted to Free subject to following conditions :

1. Import of Semi-manufactured Silver Paste, Sheets, Plates, Strips, Tubes, Electrodes, Wires, Silver Brazing Alloys (in any form) by Electrical, Electronics and Engineering Industries including Glass & Solar Industries as input for their own manufacturing process on ‘Actual User’ basis shall be ‘Free’
2. Import of given items for R & D purposes by Government of Government Recognised Institutions shall also be ‘Free’.
3. Import for any other purposes shall be through specified agencies as per the earlier provisions.
