Import Management System

Import of goods into India are subjected to various regulations and the compliance of the same is monitored by DGFT through its power vested under the Foreign Trade (Development and Regulation) Act of 1992 (FTDR Act).

Import Monitoring System forming part of larger Import Management system primarily requires the Importers to register the Import details and obtain Registration Certificate on payment of prescribed Fees.

This system is primarily designed to capture details of
- Import Product,
- Quantity being imported,
- Quantity of products being imported which are also available domestically,
This data helps the concerned industry to strategize on import substitution.

Currently following modules are available in DGFT Portal wherein the Registration of Imports can be done :-

  1. Import Authorization for Restricted Imports
  2. Tariff Rate Quota
  3. Registration certificate for Imports
  4. Steel Import Monitoring System under Ministry of Steel
  5. Coal Import Monitoring System under Ministry of Coal
  6. Copper / Aluminium Import Monitoring System (NFMIMS - Non-Ferrous Metals Import Monitoring System) under Ministry of Mines
  7. Chip Import Monitoring System under Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology
  8. Yellow Peas Import Monitoring System
  9. Paper Import Monitoring System Under Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade.
