📋 Regulatory Framework
Import of goods into India are subjected to various regulations and the compliance of the same is monitored by DGFT (Directorate General of Foreign Trade) through its powers vested under the Foreign Trade (Development and Regulation) Act of 1992 (FTDR Act).
Import Monitoring System forming part of larger Import Management system primarily requires the Importers to register the Import details and obtain Registration Certificate on payment of prescribed Fees.

Registration Process
Access DGFT Portal
Login to the DGFT portal and navigate to the appropriate import monitoring system module
Enter Import Details
Provide comprehensive information about the products, quantities, origin, and other required details
Pay Prescribed Fees
Complete the payment of registration fees as per the applicable schedule
Obtain Registration Certificate
Receive the Registration Certificate upon successful processing of the application
Proceed with Import
Use the registration certificate to complete import formalities with customs authorities
